Proviso Township Board of Trustees Met Feb. 17.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

1. CALL TO ORDER

The Board of Township Trustees of the Township of Proviso met at the Office of the Township Clerk, 4565 Harrison Street, Hillside, IL 60162 on Wednesday, February 17, 2021.

2. ROLL CALL

Supervisor Corrigan called the meeting to order at 5:37 p.m. and on a roll call The following responded via audio conference: Trustees Thomas, Christopher, Chavez, Herrell, Assessor Zawaski, and Attorney Durkin. Also, physically present were Supervisor Corrigan and Clerk Williams.

3. DECLARATION by Supervisor that, pursuant to Public Act 101-0640, an in-person meeting is not practical or prudent because of the COVID-19 disaster declaration by Governor Pritzker.

4. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Supervisor Corrigan led the board in the Pledge of Allegiance.

5. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Trustee Herrell moved, seconded by Trustee Christopher that the Board of Trustees approve the minutes to the Township Board Meeting held on February 1, 2021. Roll Call Vote #1

Discussion: None

Ayes: Trustees Thomas, Christopher, Chavez, Herrell and Supervisor Corrigan \

Nays: None

Absent: None

Motion Carried

6. APPROVAL OF BILLS

Trustee Chavez moved, seconded by Trustee Herrell that the Board of Trustees approve payment of the bills submitted for February 1, 2021 – February 15, 2021. Roll Call Vote #2

Discussion: None

Ayes: Trustees Thomas, Christopher, Chavez, Herrell and Supervisor Corrigan 

Nays: None

Absent: None

Motion carried

7. ATTORNEY’S REPORT

Tom Halleran from SRD will attend the next board meeting on March 1, 2021.

8. CLOSED SESSION

None

9. OLD BUSINESS

A. Supervisor’s Report – No warrants. Sale of Transportation building might have to be a Special Meeting. Department heads took a tour of the new building. We received a Certificate of Recognition from the United States Census; it will be framed and hung on a wall.

B. Clerk’s Report – None

C. Trustee’s Report – None

D. Elected Officials Report – None

E. Staff Report – Lorenzo provided Live Virtual Community presentation schedule. Topics include Teens about Sex, Teens about Consent, and Teens about Drugs.

10. NEW BUSINESS

A. Consideration to approve specific personnel matters requiring board action.

B. Trustee Herrell moved, seconded by Trustee Christopher that the Board of Trustees Approve a Resolution Authorizing the Execution of a Grant Agreement By and Between Proviso Township and the Progress Center for Independent Living

11. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

11. ADJOURNMENT

Supervisor Corrigan moved seconded by Trustee Chavez that the Board of Trustees adjourns the meeting at 5:52 p.m.
