City of Northlake City Council met Nov. 2.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.

Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL:

PRESENT: Aldermen Straube, Contreras, Garcia, Johnson, Gonzalez, Grochowski And Patti

PRESENT VIA CONFERENCE BRIDGE: Alderman Feldmann

OTHERS PRESENT: Carol Lampard, Finance Director

Mark Sterk, Attorney

Norm Nissen, Chief Of Police

Tony Faciano, Superintendent Public Works

Mayor Sherwin presented the minutes of the city council meeting held on October 19, 2020. Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the minutes of the city council meeting held on October 19, 2020; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin asked if there were any additions or corrections. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the warrants and vouchers; seconded by Alderman Contreras. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

NAYS: None

Motion To Accept The Warrants And Vouchers Carried

A 2020 “State of the Streets” presentation was made via Conference Bridge by Kurt Keifer from Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP). They do pavement imaging to assess the condition of area streets. He said Northlake’s streets are in good shape, better than many other municipalities, and we should continue with the pavement management system already in place.

Mayor Sherwin stated the new operating system at City Hall allows residents to “round up” the amount they pay on their water bills and they could then have the option to donate the excess to go into a fund for residents who may need assistance paying their bills. The water tower on Northwest Avenue is in the process of being repainted. The videos on the Northlake website appear to be a success, as the most recent one already had 3400 views. The Mayor reminded everyone the Budget Meeting is at 6:00 pm on Thursday, November 5, 2020.

Alderman Patti made a motion to approve Resolution R-19-2020; A Resolution Approving an Agreement Between the City of Northlake and Lakeshore Recycling Services, LLC for Residential Collection and Transportation of Municipal Solid Waste; seconded by Alderman Straube. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL: Aldermen Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Garcia, Johnson, Gonzalez, Grochowski, And Patti

NAYS: None

Motion To Approve Resolution R-19-2020; A Resolution Approving An Agreement Between The City Of Northlake And Lakeshore Recycling Services, Llc For Residential Collection And Transportation Of Municipal Solid Waste Carried

There being no further business, Alderman Straube made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.
