“United Cargo established a COVID Readiness Task Team earlier this summer to help ensure we have the right people, products, services, and partnerships in place to support a vaccine distribution effort on a global scale," United Airlines said in an statement issued by the company, NBC 5 Chicago reported.
The NBC 5 Chicago report said that United Airlines would not confirm any details pertaining to the flight itself or the cargo it contained.

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker said he thinks the shipment was transferred to a Pfizer facility near Kenosha, WI while the company awaits approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), NBC 5 Chicago said.
United Airlines had to obtain approval from federal regulators to carry more dry ice than is normally allowed to store the vaccines, the station said.
Pfizer didn't respond to requests for comment from the station. Its vaccine is reportedly 95% effective, NBC 5 Chicago reported.
