CITY OF BERWYN: Issues Notification Call with Halloween COVID-19 Guidelines

City of Berwyn issued the following announcement on Oct. 25.

Our Berwyn COVID unified command team offers guidance of local and national health experts regarding the threat of infection through activities such as trick-or-treating.

Although we are discouraging traditional trick or treating customs, during COVID-19 participation is at the discretion of parents/guardians. If you choose to allow your children to partake in door to door trick or treating, adult supervision is required in groups of no more than 6 people are together at one time.

The following is a list of the guidelines for this year if you choose to participate, please leave your porch light ON and adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Trick or treating hours will be from 3:30pm to 6:30pm on October 31, 2020

2. Individuals in Halloween Costumes should incorporate a cloth/disposable facemask that covers their nose and mouth into their costumes (please do not use Halloween mask as a face covering)

3. Hand Sanitizer should be used after every treat stop along the way.

4. Wear a mask at the door, when greeting at all times.

5. Hand out only pre-packaged candy

6. Limit interactions to no less than 6ft

7. Coordinate contactless one-way trick or treating

If you choose not to participate as a household, please adhere to the following recommendations:

1. Leave your porch lights off until 8pm.

2. Leave a sign indicating that you are not participating.

3. Do not answer your door.

Households with members with confirmed Covid-19 cases or in quarantine should not participate.
