City of Countryside issued the following announcement on June 11.
Mayor Sean McDermott just announced that the City of Countryside has been awarded LEED Gold certification for the newly constructed Municipal Complex. The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating system, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), provides a framework to create healthy, highly efficient and cost-saving green buildings. Mayor McDermott stated, ““I am extremely proud that our new municipal complex has been awarded LEED Gold certification. This clearly demonstrates the commitment the City of Countryside has made to protecting our environment and mitigating the impact of climate change.”
