Proviso Township Board met Jan. 6.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

1) CALL TO ORDER

The Board of Town Trustees of the Town of Proviso met at the Office of the Township Clerk, 4565 Harrison Street, Hillside, IL 60162 on Monday, January 6, 2020.

2) ROLL CALL

Supervisor Corrigan called the meeting to order at 5:35 p.m. and on a roll call the following responded: Trustees Thomas, Christopher, Chavez, Herrell and Supervisor Corrigan. Also present were Clerk Williams, Assessor Zawaski, Attorney Adam Durkin.

3) PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Supervisor Corrigan led the board in the Pledge of Allegiance.

4) APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Trustee Chavez moved, seconded by Trustee Christopher that the Board of Trustees approve the minutes of the Township Board Meeting held on December 18, 2019.

Discussion: None

Ayes: Trustees Thomas, Christopher, Chavez, Herrell and Supervisor Corrigan.

Nays: None

Absent: None

Motion carried

5) APPROVAL OF BILLS

Trustee Christopher moved, seconded by Trustee Chavez that the Board of Trustees approve payment of the bills submitted for December 16, 2019 – December 31, 2019

Discussion: None

Ayes: Trustees Thomas, Christopher, Chavez, Herrell and Supervisor Corrigan.

Nays: None

Absent: None

Motion carried

6) ATTORNEY’ REPORT

Closed session to discuss personnel matters.

7) CLOSED SESSION

Trustee Herrell moved, seconded by Supervisor Corrigan that the Board of Trustees recess to closed session to discuss and consider the hiring, discipline, performance and compensation of certain personnel, and matters of pending probable or imminent litigation at 5:36 pm.

Discussion: Employee slipped on ice and refused to be tested for drug and alcohol, left Concentra. He was given a 2nd chance to attend a hearing and failed to attend. Trustee Thomas will reach out to employee. Employee has another full-time job.

Ayes: Trustee Thomas, Christopher, Chavez, Herrell and Supervisor Corrigan

Nays: None

Absent: None

Motion carried

RECONVENE TO PUBLIC SESSION

Trustee Herrell moved, seconded by Trustee Christopher that the Board reconvene the meeting to public session at 5:40 pm. On a roll call, the following responded present:

Trustees Thomas, Christopher, Chavez, Herrell and Supervisor Corrigan.

8) OLD BUSINESS

A. Supervisor’s Report – Warrants approved. MLK breakfast – Mike and Tony will attend.

Trustee Herrell moved, seconded by Trustee Chavez that the Board approve the payments of G. A. Warrants for October and November 2019.

9) NEW BUSINESS

A. Consideration to approve specific personnel matters requiring board action.

Trustee Herrell moved, seconded by Trustee Thomas that the Board of Trustees allow Supervisor Corrigan to approve time to be made aware of opportunity to resign.

10) PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

11) ADJOURNMENT

Trustee Christopher moved, seconded by Trustee Chavez that the Board of Trustees adjourns the meeting at 5:50 pm.
