Illinois State House District 7 issued the following announcement on Jan. 29.
State Rep. Emanuel “Chris” Welch, D-Hillside, issued the following statement after Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s State of the State address:
“Last year, we had a very productive legislative session passing meaningful reforms that put working families first by creating a fairer tax system, raising the minimum wage, and making healthcare more affordable.
“To continue our progress to build a stronger Illinois we must expand economic opportunity and job training programs for working families and create real property tax relief for the middle class.
“I remain committed to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle and the governor to move our state forward and create a brighter future—full of opportunity—for working families in Illinois.”
