City of Northlake City Council met Dec. 16.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

The regular meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Sherwin asked everyone to stand for the pledge of allegiance.

Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Roll Call:

Present: Aldermen Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Garcia, Johnson, Gonzalez, Grochowski And Patti

Others Present: Nancy Pauletto, City Clerk

Carol Lampard, Finance Director

Mark Sterk, Attorney

Norm Nissen, Chief Of Police

Dale Roberts, Superintendent Public Works

Mayor Sherwin presented the minutes of the regular meeting held on December 2, 2019. Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the minutes of the regular meeting held on December 2, 2019; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin asked if there were any additions or corrections. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Alderman Patti made a motion to pay the warrants and vouchers if and when the funds become available; seconded by Alderman Feldmann. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Roll Call: Aldermen Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Garcia, Johnson, Gonzalez, Grochowski And Patti

Nays: None

Motion to Pay the Warrants and Vouchers Carried

Mayor Sherwin noted that he received an award for his “Dedicated Service and Contribution as Founding Director of the Cook County Land Bank Authority” as he has now resigned from that position. Alderman Gonzalez noted December 17 is the last day to appeal Cook County taxes with the Board of Review. Alderman Feldmann thanked the council for agreeing to enlarge and improve the city dog park, and said that the work has now been completed. Mayor Sherwin stated the engineers will be researching what the better option is to either repair or replace the 3 million gallon water reservoir at Hansen Park. The next City Council meeting will be the second Monday in January. The Kiwanis Club is donating a chess and checker pavilion to be installed in Grant Park. The Mayor wished everyone a Merry Christmas.

Alderman Grochowski made a motion to approve the Finance and City Council dates for 2020; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.

There being no further business, Alderman Straube made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.

Meeting Adjourned 7:10 p.m.
