City of Northlake Youth Commission met Oct. 9.

Here is the minutes provided by the commission:

ATTENDANCE: Sheila Morgan, Sharon Budzon, John Morgan, Veronica Budzon, Mauricio Lopez

ABSENT: Rebecca Morgan

GUESTS: Francine Patti, Trisha Patti

MINUTES OF THE SEPTEMBER 11, 2019 MEETING:

The minutes of the September 11, 2019 meeting were read. A motion was made by John to accept the minutes. Veronica seconded the motion. All were in favor.

OLD BUSINESS:

1. KIDS' HALLOWEEN CRAFTS - 10/9/19- 38 kids and 24 adults showed for this event. We had a great turnout, all kids took home prizes and a goodie bag.

2. BOOFEST / HAUNTED TRAIL - 10/31/19 - Mauricio bas updated the fliers soliciting help for the Haunted Trail, He will also be posting an ad for it on our Facebook Page. We are planning on uploading the trucks on 10/31/19 to save time on the day of the event. Volunteers will be getting pizza and prizes for their help. We are planning on having Andrea help us with makeup. More details of the trail will be discussed further at our next meeting on 10/23/19.

3. KIDS' Thanksgiving Craft Night - 11/13/19 - Veronica will be ordering the crafts for this event.

NEW BUSINESS:

1. Winterfest - 12/7/19 - Event will run from 11-3 but our crafts will go from 11-1pm. More details to come. Tabled until 10/23 meeting,

2. Search for new commissioner - We are looking to find a new member but will plan on starting the search in January. Mauricio's wife might be a possible candidate.

3. Budget- Budget for 2020 has been created. Will be sending request over to Carol Lampard.

There was no other business discussed. Veronica moved for adjournment, seconded by John. All were in favor. Youth Commission Chairperson, Sheila Morgan, adjourned the meeting at 6:00pm.
