The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Joseph T, Tamburino. The following members responded as present at roll call:

Clerk Gould administered Oath of Office to new Fire Captain, Marco DeVito.

Chief Lukaszek gave update on speeding vehicles and tickets issued.

Public Works and Building Services Director: (Joseph Pisano)
Director Pisano reported the 2019 Road Resurfacing Project will begin this Wednesday, September 11, weather permitting.
He also stated that a report on flood improvements for the intersection flooding is being finalized with our Engineer and is expected within a few weeks.
Village Administrator:
Administrator Wajda turned his report over to Trustee Watson. Trustee Watson reported the Village of Hillside is the recipient of a Cook County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) in the amount of $280,000.00. The funded project will be used toward getting the gym operational in the vacant building in the Municipal Complex. Mayor Tamburino added this is the first time the Village has ever been awarded this type of grant.
Committee Reports
Finance and Administration Committee: (Trustee Kramer)
Trustee Kramer reported the following are to be on the agenda for action at the Regular Board Meeting of September 23, 2019.
A. Approval of the licensing of food truck vendors in certain manufacturing zoned areas of town.
B. Approval of membership dues for West Central Municipal Conference (WCMC), 2019-2020 membership dues, for $9,729.90. 5,620 16estzcemembership
C. Approval of gross payroll for period August 17 through August 30, 2019, in the amount of $317,334.59.
D. Approval of bills for the month of September, 2019.
Public Services Committee: (Trustee Walter)
Trustee Walter reported the following are to be on the agenda for action at the Regular Board Meeting of September 23, 2019
A. Approval of pay request #3 to Brothers Asphalt Paving Inc., 315 S. Stewart Ave., Addison, IL 60101, for work performed on the CRM Reconstruction and Madison Street Resurfacing Project. Payment is contingent on Brothers providing necessary waiver of liens.
B. Approval to accept bids on September 12, 2019 and approve low bidder to replace the roofing system for Village owned property located at 4843 Butterfield Road, Hillside.
Public Safety and Education Committee: (Trustee Watson)
Trustee Walter reported the following are to be on the agenda for action at the Regular Board Meeting of September 23, 2019.
A. Approval of Agreement with Pelion Benefits Inc.,3713-C University Drive, Durham, NC 27707, to provide a VEBA Plan to the Hillside Fire Department.
B. Approval of Fire Chief Carling to attend the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association 60th Annual Conference in Peoria, IL, October 13-16, 2019, at a cost of $676.10.
Trustee Watson also reported the next Community Awareness Meeting is Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room.

Village President:
Mayor Tamburino reminded Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic Cemeteries will proudly display the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Moving Wall, September 26-30, 2019, at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Volunteers are needed. Sign up by going to visitthemovingwall.org. Mayor Tamburino read Proclamation: Honoring Pearlie Chafin Stewart on her 100th Birthday.
Announcements :
Mayor Tamburino announced the next Regular Meeting of the Village Board is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Monday, September 23, 2019, in the Board Room of the Municipal Complex, 425 Hillside Avenue, Hillside, IL 60162.
Mayor Tamburino asked all to join in coffee and cake.
As there was no further business before the Board, Mayor Tamburino entertained a motion to adjourn.
So moved by Trustee Delgado, seconded by Trustee Farries.
All voting aye, motion carried.
