City

City of Northlake City Council met Nov. 4.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

The regular meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Sherwin asked everyone to stand for the pledge of allegiance.

Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL:

PRESENT: ALDERMEN STRAUBE, FELDMANN, CONTRERAS, GARCIA, JOHNSON, GONZALEZ, GROCHOWSKI AND PATTI

OTHERS PRESENT: NANCY PAULETTO, CITY CLERK

CAROL LAMPARD, FINANCE DIRECTOR

MARK STERK, ATTORNEY

NORM NISSEN, CHIEF OF POLICE

DALE ROBERTS, SUPERINTENDENT PUBLIC WORKS

Mayor Sherwin presented the minutes of the regular meeting held on October 21, 2019. Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the minutes of the regular meeting held on October 21, 2019; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin asked if there were any additions or corrections. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.

MOTION TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES OF THE OCTOBER 21, 2019 CITY COUNCIL MEETING CARRIED

Alderman Patti made a motion to pay the warrants and vouchers if and when the funds become available; seconded by Alderman Feldmann. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL: ALDERMEN STRAUBE, FELDMANN, CONTRERAS, GARCIA, JOHNSON, GONZALEZ, GROCHOWSKI AND PATTI

NAYS: NONE

MOTION TO PAY THE WARRANTS AND VOUCHERS CARRIED

Mayor Sherwin stated that Boofest was well-attended in spite of the weather; that he attended the grand opening for the new Show Flooring store; that the annual City Council budget meeting would be held on November 20, 2019 at 6:30 p.m.; and that he had received many compliments on the Senior Luncheon including its new venue.

Alderman Grochowski made a motion to approve Ordinance O-19-2019; An Ordinance Vacating an Alley Lying North of Lake Street Between Elm Avenue and Lavergne Avenue in the City of Northlake, Cook County, Illinois and Ordinance O-20-2019; An Ordinance Vacating an Alley Lying North of Lake Street Between Lind Avenue and Elm Avenue in the City of Northlake, Cook County, Illinois; seconded by Alderman Patti. It was agreed these two Ordinances could be approved and voted on together. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL: ALDERMAN STRAUBE, FELDMANN, CONTRERAS, GARCIA, JOHNSON, GONZALEZ, GROCHOWSKI AND PATTI

NAYS: NONE

MOTION TO APPROVE ORDINANCE O-19-2019; AN ORDINANCE VACATING AN ALLEY LYING NORTH OF LAKE STREET BETWEEN ELM AVENUE AND LAVERGUE AVENUE IN THE CITY OF NORTHLAKE, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS CARRIED

MOTION TO APPROVE ORDINANCE O-20-2019; AN ORDINANCE VACATING AN ALLEY LYING NORTH OF LAKE STREET BETWEEN LIND AVENUE AND ELM AVENUE IN THE CITY OF NORTHLAKE, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS CARRIED

There being no further business, Alderman Straube made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.

MOTION TO ADJOURN CARRIED
