City of Northlake issued the following announcement on Oct. 2.
On Monday, October 7th, the general area around the old Office Depot building in Northlake Commons will be closed from approximately 6:00-8:30 AM, weather permitting. The reason for the closure is a construction company will be using a helicopter to lift large air conditioning units onto the top of the building. This will impact only those who will be visiting Northlake Commons during this time frame.
We have recently experienced an increase of incidents where unlocked vehicles parked in residential driveways have been entered and rummaged through to find items of value. Most, but not all, of these incidents have occurred in the late evening or early morning hours. It is important that you lock your vehicles at all times when parked at your residence. The police department is actively investigating these incidents. In the meantime, if you see any suspicious subjects in your yard or driveway, call the police immediately.
