City of Northlake City Council met June 10.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

The regular meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Sherwin asked everyone to stand for the pledge of allegiance.

Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL:

PRESENT: ALDERMEN STRAUBE, FELDMANN, CONTRERAS, GARCIA, JOHNSON, GROCHOWSKI AND PATTI

ABSENT: ALDERMAN GONZALEZ

OTHERS PRESENT: DEBRA RAIDA, DEPUTY CITY CLERK

CAROL LAMPARD, FINANCE DIRECTOR

MARK STERK, ATTORNEY

NORM NISSEN, CHIEF OF POLICE

MARK RAIL, PUBLIC WORKS

Mayor Sherwin presented the minutes of the regular meeting held on May 20, 2019. Alderman Grochowski made a motion to accept the minutes of the regular meeting held on May 20, 2019; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin asked if there were any additions or corrections. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. Alderman Gonzalez was absent. The motion carried.

MOTION TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES OF THE MAY 20, 2019 CITY COUNCIL MEETING CARRIED

Alderman Patti made a motion to pay the warrants and vouchers if and when the funds become available; seconded by Alderman Feldmann. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL: ALDERMEN STRAUBE, FELDMANN, CONTRERAS, GARCIA, JOHNSON, GROCHOWSKI AND PATTI

ABSENT: ALDERMAN GONZALEZ,

NAYS: NONE

MOTION TO PAY THE WARRANTS AND VOUCHERS CARRIED

Mayor Sherwin reminded everyone that the next City Council Meeting will be held on July 15th.

Mayor Sherwin presented a motion to refer to the Zoning Board of Appeals, Planning and Economic Development a variance for relocation of garage for 36 Bernice. Mayor Sherwin needs to speak with the Building Department to reword application. Alderman Patti made a motion to refer; seconded by Alderman Feldmann. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

MOTION TO REFER TO THE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS, PLANNING AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT A VARIANCE FOR RELOCATION OF GARAGE FOR 36 BERNICE CARRIED

Alderman Straube made a motion to approve Turner Construction’s Request for Additional Parking at Centerpoint; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll

ROLL CALL: ALDERMEN STRAUBE, FELDMANN, CONTRERAS, GARCIA, JOHNSON, GROCHOWSKI AND PATTI

ABSENT: ALDERMAN GONZALEZ,

NAYS: NONE

MOTION TO APPROVE TURNER CONSTRUCTION’S REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL PARKING AT CENTERPOINT CARRIED

Alderman Patti made a motion to relist the lot at 564 Sandra for sale on Zillow; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.

MOTION TO RELIST THE LOT AT 564 SANDRA FOR SALE ON ZILLOW CARRIED

The Principal and Marketing Director from St. John Vianney School asked if they could use the Midland Trail for their 5K run on October 12, 2019. Mayor Sherwin will check to see if there are any conflicts with this date and let them know.

There being no further business, Alderman Straube made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.

MOTION TO ADJOURN CARRIED
