Q4 2018 Recap: Parolees in Oak Park convicted of crimes involving weapons

There were two offenders convicted of crimes involving weapons released on parole in Oak Park during the fourth quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the West Cook News.

The data shows that both of the released offenders in Oak Park were men. The younger parolee was a 27-year-old man sentenced in 2016. The other was a 39-year-old man sentenced in 2010.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Terrence Lewis. He was convicted of a crime involving one or more weapons in 2010 when he was 31 years old. He is now 39.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the 50 cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders in Q4 2018 who were convicted of crimes involving weapons.
