Q2 2018 Recap: Parolees in Chicago convicted of sex crimes

There were 10 offenders convicted of sex crimes released on parole in Chicago during the second quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the West Cook News.

The data shows that nine men and one woman were among the parolees. Of the parolees sentenced for sex crimes, one is a veteran, and the median age is 41. The youngest parolee was a 27-year-old man sentenced in 2012, and the oldest was a 61-year-old man sentenced in 1985.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was David Evans. He was convicted of a sex crime in 2006 when he was 39 years old. He is now 52.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders in Q2 2018 who were convicted of sex crimes.
