Q2 2018 Recap: Parolees in Chicago convicted of crimes against justice

There were 43 offenders convicted of crimes against justice released on parole in Chicago during the second quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the West Cook News.

The data shows that 42 men and one woman were among the parolees. Of the parolees sentenced for crimes against justice, one is a veteran, and the median age is 33. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old man sentenced in 2017, and the oldest was a 64-year-old man sentenced in 2017.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Omar Moore. He was convicted of a crime against justice in 2011 when he was 41 years old. He is now 49.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders in Q2 2018 who were convicted of crimes against justice.
