City of Northlake City Council met May 6.

The regular meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Sherwin asked everyone to stand for the pledge of allegiance.
Swearing in ceremony for Alderman Garcia and Alderman Johnson.
Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Mayor Sherwin presented the minutes of the regular meeting held on April 15, 2019. Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the minutes of the regular meeting held on April 15, 2019; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin asked if there were any additions or corrections. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Alderman Straube made a motion to reappoint Patrick Pionto to the Community Events and Affairs Commission; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Alderman Patti made a motion to pay the warrants and vouchers if and when the funds become available; seconded by Alderman Feldmann. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Mayor Sherwin noted the current operating software at City Hall is 22 years old. Research is being done on a new system, which will ultimately cost between $100-150,000. Mayor Sherwin informed everyone about the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus coming up on May 17; the West Leyden open house on May 7; the Trinity ribbon cutting on June 7; and that Northlake will receive an award at the June 14 West Central Municipal Conference. Mayor Sherwin stated there was no need for an Ordinance on the issue, but that the city has abolished the need for residents to obtain vehicle stickers. Mayor Sherwin noted he would like to obtain an engineer’s proposal for installation of a music park at Centerpoint. Mayor Sherwin stated the new aldermen could contact Dale Roberts at Public Works for an infrastructure tour to familiarize themselves with the system.
Alderman Patti made a motion to approve Ordinance O-08-2019; An Ordinance Assigning Certain Duties to the Finance Director and Amending Section 7-7B-6-9 of the Northlake City Code; seconded by Alderman Contreras. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Motion To Approve Ordinance O-08-2019; An Ordinance Assigning Certain Duties To The Finance Director And Amending Section 7-7b-6-9 Of The Northlake City Code Carried
Alderman Patti made a motion to approve Resolution R-13-2019; A Resolution Approving an Investment Policy; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Motion To Approve Resolution R-13-2019; A Resolution Approving An Investment Policy Carried
Alderman Straube made a motion to go into Execution Session at 7:21; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.
Resident George Hainault commented on the sewers and stated the lift station was performing well.
There being no further business, Alderman Straube made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.
