Former state school employee Moses paid in $138K to teachers' pension fund, could collect $2.07M in retirement

Former state school employee Ann Moses, who retired in July 2018, saved $138,103 toward a pension over 21 years working for public schools, Teachers' Retirement System of the State of Illinois records show.

Over 30 years of retirement, Moses would collect as much as $2.07 million, according to a projection by Local Government Information Services (LGIS), which publishes West Cook News.

The projection assumes Moses received $43,471 in the first year of retirement, then 3 percent annual increases thereafter, compounded.

After 4 years of retirement, Moses will have already received $181,866 in retirement benefits, or more than the sum total of the retiree's contributions to the teachers' pension fund.
