Bellwood home prices rise in 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in 2017 in Bellwood rose by $14,500 while total sales decreased by 3.4%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2017, there were 283 homes sold, with a median sale price of $134,500 - a 12.1% increase over the $120,000 median sale price for the previous year. There were 293 homes sold in Bellwood in 2016.

The median sales tax in Bellwood for 2017 was $4,154. In 2016, the median sales tax was $3,741. This marks an increase of 11%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 3.1%.
