Lyons home prices rise in 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in 2017 in Lyons rose by $13,000 while total sales increased by 6.2%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2017, there were 154 homes sold, with a median sale price of $146,000 - a 9.8% increase over the $133,000 median sale price for the previous year. There were 145 homes sold in Lyons in 2016.

The median sales tax in Lyons for 2017 was $3,931. In 2016, the median sales tax was $3,861. This marks an increase of 1.8%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.7%.
