Westchester home prices rise in 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in 2017 in Westchester rose by $13,750 while total sales decreased by 0.6%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2017, there were 354 homes sold, with a median sale price of $234,000 - a 6.2% increase over the $220,250 median sale price for the previous year. There were 356 homes sold in Westchester in 2016.

The median sales tax in Westchester for 2017 was $4,915. In 2016, the median sales tax was $4,506. This marks an increase of 9.1%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.1%.
