City of Northlake issued the following announcement on Feb. 15.
Turner Construction has once again rented the parking lot at Centerpoint Preserve to provide parking for construction worker’s vehicles in connection with the expansion of the Microsoft Data Center. The rental period will run approximately one year, earing the City $5,000 per month. The lot will be available for the City’s use during the annual carnival and fireworks display in June.
All of the money earned from the current and previous rentals has been or will be placed in the “Park Improvement Fund” which will be used to make upgrades in all of the City’s parks. These improvements in 2019 will include the re-surfacing of the 2 small parking lots at CenterPoint Preserve and construction of the outdoor fitness center on the Midland trail and Whitehall. Microsoft has also donated $35,000 for the construction of the fitness center.
