City of Northlake Youth Commission met Jan. 9.

ATTENDANCE: Sheila Morgan, Sharon Budzon, John Morgan, Veronica Budzon, Mauricio Lopez
ABSENT: Rebecca Morgan

MINUTES OF THE DECEMBER 12, 2018 MEETING:
The minutes of the December 12, 2018 meeting were read. A motion was made by John to accept the minutes. Mauricio seconded the motion. All were in favor.
OLD BUSINESS:
1. KIDS' BINGO NIGHT – 1/9/19 - A total of 35 people attended. Sharon bought more prizes to supplement what was left over from last time. We also used 2 Ozzie's lunch gift certificates as top prizes for the last big game. They were left over from the Haunted Trail.
KIDS' VALENTINE'S DAY CRAFT NIGHT - 2/6/19 - Sharon succeeded in booking this event at Grant Park in the Darlene Trevino room at no charge. (The Sandy Vasquez Center will be remodeled at that time.) As usual, our meeting will be at 5:30 & the event from 6-8pm.
BUILDING BLOCK CRAFT NIGHT - 3/13/19 - This will be held back at the Sandy Vasquez Center. We will run this like the sand crafts; no treat bags, no raffles, just the projects. We are excited to bring this very different event to the children,
4 Digital Advertising - Mauricio needs a mission statement for our new Facebook page.
Sharon will write this up & Email to him. He took more photos of tonight's event. We are excited to see this upon completion!
5 2019 CALENDAR - Sharon moved that we accept the calendar. Veronica Seconded it. All were in favor.
NEW BUSINESS:
1. Laser Tag - Sheila suggested we buy the equipment & run activities for the kids. Everyone Agreed that we would like to pursue this. Sheiia will get pricing and present it at our next meeting.
There was no other business discussed. Sharon moved for adjournment, seconded by Veronica. All were in favor. Youth Commission Chairperson, Sheila Morgan, adjourned the meeting at 5:45pm.
