Analysis: Hinsdale administrators rank 108th in state for average pay

Administrators in Hinsdale Township High School District 86 earn an average of $124,799 per year, ranking 108th out of 864 districts in the state, according to a West Cook News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2018 average is 2.7% higher than in 2014 and 7.5% lower than in 2009. District administrators make 16.3% more than the state average of $107,279.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Dupage County school district enrolled 4358 students in 2017-18. There is an average of 93 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 181 to 1.
