City of Northlake Council met Dec. 17.

The regular meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. Mayor Sherwin asked everyone to stand for the pledge of allegiance. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.
ROLL CALL:
PRESENT: ALDERMAN STRAUBE, FELDMANN, CONTRERAS, PADILLA, WERBA, GONZALEZ, GROCHOWSKI AND PATTI
OTHERS PRESENT: NANCY PAULETTO, CITY CLERK CAROL LAMPARD, FINANCE DIRECTOR MARK STERK, ATTORNEY JAY MILITELLO, DEPUTY CHIEF OF POLICE DALE ROBERTS, SUPERINTENDENT PUBLIC WORKS
Mayor Sherwin presented the minutes of the regular meeting held on December 3, 2018. Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the minutes of the regular meeting held December 3, 2018; seconded by Alderman Werba. Mayor Sherwin asked if there were any additions or corrections. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. Alderman Gonzalez and Alderman Contreras abstained. The motion carried.
MOTION TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES OF THE DECEMBER 3, 2018 CITY COUNCIL MEETING CARRIED
Alderman Patti made a motion to pay the warrants and vouchers if and when the funds become available; seconded by Alderman Padilla. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Mayor Sherwin wished everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. He also noted that Winterfest was a success and that the next Council meeting would be the second rather than the third Monday in January because of Martin Luther King’s birthday.
Alderman Patti made a motion to approve the Illinois Central Sweeping Proposal for 2019-2021; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

MOTION TO APPROVE THE ILLINOIS CENTRAL SWEEPING PROPOSAL FOR 2019-2021 CARRIED
Alderman Patti made a motion to approve the sale of a 1998 Caterpillar 928G to Ciosek for the amount of $39,670.62; seconded by Alderman Padilla. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.
