City of Northlake Finance and Rules Committee met Dec. 17.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

Clerk Pauletto called for the roll.

Roll Call:

Present: Alderman Straube

Alderman Feldmann

Alderman Contreras

Alderman Padilla

Alderman Werba

Alderman Gonzalez

Alderman Grochowski

Alderman Patti

Others Present: Nancy Pauletto, City Clerk

Carol Lampard, Finance Director

Jay Militello, Deputy Chief Of Police

Dale Roberts, Superintendent Public Works

The committee reviewed the minutes of the December 3, 2018 meeting. Alderman Patti made a motion to approve the minutes of the December 3, 2018 meeting; seconded by Alderman Padilla.

Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. Alderman Gonzalez and Alderman Contreras abstained. The minutes were approved.

Mayor Sherwin presented the Warrants and Vouchers. Alderman Patti made a motion to pay the Warrants and Vouchers; seconded by Alderman Feldmann. Questions were asked and answered respectively. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Mayor Sherwin presented the Commission Expenditures. Alderman Patti made a motion to pay the Commission Expenditures; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Under New Business:

Mayor Sherwin opened a discussion about approving the Illinois Central Sweeping Proposal for 2019-2021. Alderman Patti made a motion to approve; seconded by Alderman Grochowski.

Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Mayor Sherwin opened a discussion about approving the sale of a 1998 Caterpillar 928G to Ciosek in the amount of $39,670.62. Alderman Grochowski made a motion to approve; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Mayor Sherwin presented Resolution R-20-2018; A Resolution of the City of Northlake Forgiving Certain Interfund Receivables and Payables. Alderman Gonzalez made a motion approve; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Mayor Sherwin presented Resolution R-21-2018; A Continuing Resolution of the City of Northlake Regarding Property Tax Appeals. Alderman Patti made a motion to approve; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Mayor Sherwin opened a discussion on Entering into Auction Agreement Regarding Cell Tower Site. Alderman Grochowski made a motion to approve; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Mayor Sherwin brought up the possibility of adding gutter cleaning to the senior grass cutting program and how that would be implemented and the cost. It was agreed to put it on next month’s agenda for discussion.

There being no further business, Alderman Straube made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.
