Village of Westchester Board of Trustees met Nov. 13.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

Present: President Paul Gattuso, Trustees Carl Celestino, Frank Perry, Nick Steker, Tom Yurkovich Also Present: Village Clerk Stan Kolodziej, Attorney Mike Durkin, Village Manager David Plyman, Police Chief Steven Stelter, Fire Chief Jim Adams, I.T. Manager Greg Hribal, Public Works Director Robert Lewis, Community Development Director Melissa Headley Absent: Trustees Angelo Calcagno, Sherby Miller

4) Presentations

4.A Promotion of Firefighter Matthew Martin to the position of Fire Lieutenant.

Mesirow also provided a presentation of insurance options for the Village Board.

5) Public Comments and Questions

Cathy Kuratko came up to ask questions regarding the tax levy that is on the agenda.

Cathy also asked about the 2018 tax levy being proposed.

Becky Lasky asked for an update on the dog situation that was discussed at the previous meeting.

Joe Billner came up to advise he joined the Westchester Food Pantry and discussed a previous dog incident that occurred at High Ridge Park.

April Zick came up to ask questions regarding the fines that were issued to the dogs.

Tracy Markie asked if the dogs being discussed were displaced and will be permanently displaced or will they return.

Betty Rouse came up asking if there were any updates regarding the chicken ordinance stating that she had proposals.

8) Manager’s Report

David reported to the board updates on staffing in the front office and how he will work to cross train all of the new staff members.

9) Attorney’s Report

10) Board Member Reports and New Business

Frank Perry was asking for a copy of bills for GW and our attorney’s office and asked for more detail from GW's bills.

Clerk Kolodziej advised that the Veterans day event was well attended at the Mayfair Rec Center.

Robert Lewis advised that the start of the Sunnyside sewer project will occur in the coming week with a completion approximately in June 2018.
