State House race: Republican Morrison wins voter tally in Cook County

Tom Morrison led Democrat Maggie Trevor in votes cast in Cook County for the District 54 state House race, according to the latest vote count.

Morrison appeared to outpace Trevor by a margin of 1.1 percent on Tuesday in the county.

In comparison, the 2014 winner, Republican Tom Morrison, won by a margin of 31.8 percent in that jurisdiction, beating Democrat Laddi K. Singh, who received 11,360 votes to Morrison's 21,973.
