City Of Northlake Youth Commission met July 11

Here is the minutes provided by the Commission:

OLD BUSINESS:

1. KIDS' PATRIOTIC CRAFT NIGHT-6/13/18 - 31 people attended this event. We have never had a Craft Night devoted to this theme before. The kids seemed to really like all of the items. Many kids made all 8 of the craft options.

2. KIDS' BINGO - 7/11/18 - 6-8PM - This took place after our 5:30pm meeting at the Sandy Vazquez Community Center. A total of 29 people attended. Due to the small group we do have some prizes left for our next BINGO. Sharon passed out fliers for our next event: Sand Craft Night on 8/8.

3. KIDS' THEMED CRAFT NIGHT - 8/8/18-Since time is short at this point, we are running a Sand Craft Night. It is a popular event. We have plenty of containers left. Sharon will order more sand and we'll be all set. We will continue to investigate other craft themes for the future to change things up a bit.

NEW BUSINESS:

1. BOOFEST / HAUNTED TRAIL Brainstorming - This was tabled until our next meeting. The landscaping has been substantially changed, presenting a challenge for this event. We need to discuss possible new scenes as well as the layout and route of the trail.

2. RESIGNATION - Veronica Budzon resigned from the Commission due to other commitments conflicting with our activities. Thank you for your service!

There was no other business discussed. John moved for adjournment, seconded by Sharon. All were in favor. Youth Commission Chairperson, Sheila Morgan, adjourned the meeting at 6 p.m.

NEXT MEETING: August 8, 2018 at 5:30pm. This will take place at the Sandy Vasquez Community Center prior to the Sand Craft Night.
