Western Springs School District 101 students suspended 5 times in a single school year

Western Springs School District 101 reported five suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 5 students during the year. That equates to 0.4 percent of the 1,415 students enrolled.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes four incidents. For three incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for a dangerous weapon, other than a firearm. The category includes one incidents. For one incidents, students were suspended for 1-3 days.
