Village of Franklin Park President And Board of Trustees met June 4.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

I. Pledge Of Allegiance

II. Call To Order: Trustee Johnson called to order the Board of Trustees of the Village of Franklin Park in regular session at 7:00 p.m.

III. Roll Call; Establishment Of Quorum

Village Clerk Irene Avitia called the roll:

Present: Trustees Mr. Caporusso, Mr. Johnson, Mr. Ruhl, Ms. Special, and

Mr. Ybarra. Absent: Ms. McLean. The Village Clerk declared a quorum was present.

Legal Representation Present: Joe Montana, Village Attorney

Staff Members Present: Lisa Anthony (Health and Human Resources Director),

Pete Cajigas (Director, Department of Building), Joe Lauro (Utilities Commissioner),

Dave Talbott (Engineer Consultant for Smith LaSalle), Director of Police Mike Witz

(Police Department), Chief William Brehm (Fire Department), and Frank Grieashamer

(Treasurer)

1. 1st Place – Adela Struzovca, 4th Grade, Passow Elementary School

2. 2nd Place – Michele Chaidez, 3rd Grade, Pietrini Elementary School

V. Presentation: Ryan Anderson, Midwest Pesticide Action Center

Ryan Anderson gave a presentation on the risks of pesticides being used in our community

2. Mr. Johnson Reported On The Franklin Park Fest June 7, 8, And The Train Viewing On The 9th, Food, Pony Rides, And A Petting Zoo For Children, And Steve Mcmichaels, A Former Chicago Bear Will Sign Autographs From 11 Am To 1 p.m.

B. Water And Sewer/Fleet Maintenance Committee (Mr. Caporusso Chair)

1. Mr. Caporusso Reported 4 Water Main Breaks, 2 Lateral Breaks, 3 Hydrants Replaced, And 57 Storm Drains And Sanitary Sewers Cleaned Out

C. Police And Fire Committee (Mr. Ruhl, Chair)

1. Mr. Ruhl Stated Nothing To Report For Fire Or Police

D. Streets, Alleys And Fleet Maintenance (Mr. Ybarra, Chair)

1. Mr. Ybarra Stated The Street Department Would Be Setting Up For Franklin Park Fest

2. Mr. Ybarra Reported Street Sweepers Are Up And Running

3. Mr. Ybarra Reported There Were 5 Tree Removals And 4 Tree Trimmings, And 113 Hours Of Maintenance And 26 Tons Of Cold Patch Applied 

E. Property, Planning, Zoning, And Building Committee 

(Ms. Special, Chair)

1. Ms. Special Reported 69 Permits Issued In The Last 2 Weeks,

53 Building, 11 Electrical, 5 Planning Permits

2. Ms. Special Also Reported 14 Property Closings Including Both Commercial And Residential And 4 New Businesses Have Applied For Occupancy

3. Ms. Special Stated We Are 90% Complete With Food Health Inspections As Well As 90% Complete With Elevator Inspections

4. Ms. Special Reported Community Development Staff Attended Meeting With The Toll Road About Outreach And The I-294 And The Elgin Ohare Western Access Project; The Presentation And Workshop Regarding The Roll Out Of A New Policy Roadmap Of Cook County, And A Second Installment Meeting Of The Des Plaines River Trail Meeting Focusing On The Western Regional Trails And The Challenges Of Reconstructing The Trail

F. Human Resources, Sustainable Practices And Senior Services

1. Ms. Special (For Ms. Mclean) Reminded About The Blood Dri Ve On Friday, June 8th From 3 To 7:30 Pm

VIII. Additional Comments From The Staff

1. Joe Lauro spoke about patches done on Police Station parking lot and about hiring Visual Sewers to film sewers west of Mannheim that are in dire need of lining or repair

2. Dave Talbott reported that the Village has been selected to receive a grant for the Reuter subdivision
