Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

Present: President Paul Gattuso, Trustees Angelo Calcagno, Carl Celestino, Sherby Miller, Frank Perry, Nick Steker, Tom Yurkovich Also Present: Village Clerk Stan Kolodziej, Attorney Melissa Wolf, Village Manager David Plyman, Police Chief Steven Stelter, Fire Chief Jim Adams, I.T. Manager Greg Hribal, Public Works Director Robert Lewis, Community Development Director Melissa Headley

5) Public Comments and Questions

Cathy Kuratko asked the board to determine how to fund items that were discussed in the 5 year plan from when it was discussed during the budget. Village Manager Plyman provided information back to the board. Robert Lewis followed up with further information regarding the EPA loan. Cathy asked about the progress of the Hampton Inn. Melissa Headley advised that they are on schedule for mid-July and are awaiting a quorum for the planning committee. Paul advised new members will be brought forward shortly.

Ben Aldemen who is a resident asked to speak regarding the removal of Norcomm and advised that it would be the wrong decision.

Tracy Markie asked to get a progress report as to the filling of front office positions. David advised that there were 3 positons open, but only 1 will be filled, Finance Director. He advised that they will have to make due, during the lack of staff in front. Interviews will be conducted starting next week, and an announcement will be in the coming weeks.

6.D) A resolution ratifying and authorizing the appointment of Greg Hribal as Deputy Village Clerk of the Village of Westchester, Illinois.

6.F) An ordinance amending Chapter 5.36, entitled “Liquor Sale.” Of Title 5, entitled “Business Licenses and Regulations,” of the Westchester Municipal Code.

6.G ) Westchester resolution approving and authorizing the execution of an License Agreement between Village of Westchester and the Board of Education of Westchester School District 92 1/2

7.A ) An ordinance amending Title 5, entitled “Business Licenses and Regulations”, of the Westchester Municipal Code in order to regulate the sale of ice cream from ice cream trucks and ice cream carts within the Village of Westchester.

8) Manager’s Report

Manager Plyman spoke about the event flyer that was passed out to board members. Two Finance director interviews scheduled for next week. The manager advised he will be out of town this week. Trustee Perry asked for a specific date of Finance director hire, and David advised that he posted until May 27th.

10) Board Member Reports and New Business

Carl advised about a program regarding local residents to raise money for the Westchester food pantry. They raised $1000 selling seeds.

11) President’s Report

President Gattuso reminded the public about the 4th of July event asking for people to participate. Trustee Yurkovich the park is doing their annual Memorial Day event at Mayfair Park.
