Cost of college went up for all students at Empire Beauty School-Stone Park

Tuition and fees rose 6.1 percent for 2017-18 at Empire Beauty School-Stone Park, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

Illinois students paid $19,260 to attend the private for-profit school this year $1,110 more than the $18,150 charged for 2016-17.

Data shows 86 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 30 students received grants or scholarships totaling $133,118 and 30 students took out student loans totaling more than $325,036.

Including all undergraduates, 146 students used grants or scholarships totaling $598,627. Another 120 took out $1.09 million in federal student loans.
