Call To Order:

The Regular Board Meeting of Monday, April 2, 2018 was called to order by Mayor Thompson at 7:39 p.m., in the Council Chambers at 2350 South 25th Avenue, Broadview, IL 60155.

Roll Call:

Upon roll call by Kevin McGrier, Village Clerk, the following answered Present: Trustee(s), J. Abraham, J. Ealey, S. Jones, J. Tierney, V. Horne, J. Brown-Marino, Mayor Thompson Absent: None

There being a quorum the meeting was called to order.

Discussion: Ealey- Questioned hearing date: Mayor – reminded him that she provided those details at the finance committee meeting: Brown-Marino – she encourages everyone to get a copy of the budget: Jones – reminds Brown-Marino she is a hypocrite and that two years ago she created her own budget over the weekend and presented it to the board.

Discussion: Ealey- Doesn’t agree with the Groot contract, he feels that it should have been put out to bid; J. Brown-Marino- Argued that contract has to be put out for bid per the law and challenged the Attorney Public Works director; Matt Ames- addresses the board giving the history of the prior Groot contract and the recognition of the new contract we save over $40,000

Discussion: Ealey- Disagrees with the agreement, he believes the deal is a political sweetheart arrangement to offset costs involving friends of Sherman; Jones - explains why Edmark Press property is the subject sale; Attorney Welch- gives history about the property; Brown-Marino- Disagree with the agreement, she believes the deal is a political sweetheart arrangement to offset costs involving friends of Sherman Jones and adds that friend of Sherman Jones owes $10,000 to the owner of Edmark. She also believes that this administration wants to bankrupt the Village; Abraham- Approves the agreement
