Report: Western Springs spent $11,208 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Western Springs School District 101 is up 23 percent from five years ago, according to a West Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $9,113 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $11,208 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1501 to 1415.

Western Springs's spending in 2016-17 was 14 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
