Report: Lyons spent $17,635 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Lyons Township High School District 204 is up 11 percent from five years ago, according to a West Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $15,881 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $17,635 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 4039 to 3998.

Lyons's spending in 2016-17 was 36 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
