9. PUBLIC SAFETY AND EDUCATION COMMITTEE: (Trustee Watson)
A. Police Chief Joseph Lukaszek is hosting a free breakfast for Hillside residents, giving them the opportunity to meet him, ask questions and learn the day to day operations of the Police Department. This will be held on Saturday, October 14th, 10:00 a.m. at the Best Western Hotel. Reservations are necessary by October 10th.
B. Community Awareness Meeting is Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room.

12. COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMITTEE: (Trustee Farries)
A. Report on the Cemetery Tour held Saturday, October 7, 2017.
B. Hillside will be hosting "Trunk or Treat" event on Saturday, October 28th from 2 : 00 to 4 : 00 p.m. at the Commons.
C. Hillside Youth Commission is hosting Halloween Festivities at the Hillside Commons on Tuesday, October 31, 2017. Costume judging will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by the bonfire and wagon rides. Trick or Treating hours are 2 : 00-6:00 p.m.
13. VILLAGE PRESIDENT:
A. Veterans reception to be held Wednesday, November 1, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Best Western. Refreshments and Hors d'oeuvres will be served. Invitations will be in the mail.
B. Hillside's 15th Annual Veterans Day (Information. Item) Parade is Saturday, November 4, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. Grand Marshal is Vietnam U.S. Navy Veteran, Harry F. Sawyer, Assistant Director of the Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs.
C. Hillside Emergency Management Agency (Information. Item) sent five personnel to attend a 12 hour course on water rescue taught by the North Central Water Rescue Unit in Wonder Lake, Illinois on Saturday, August 12, 1017. Caroline Knoff, Jacob Shiflett, Namon Barnett, Ralph Ventrella and Andrew Ryal completed the requirements for Flood Operations and have been awarded a certificate for a job well done.
