Village of Schiller Park Village President and Board of Trustees met Sept. 7.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

CALL TO ORDER:

President Nick Caiafa called the meeting to order at 6:41 P.M.

ROLL CALL: Upon a call of the roll by the Village Clerk, the following Elected Officials were:

Present: President Nick Caiafa, Trustees: Moses Diaz, Russel Klug, Joan Golembiewski, Tom Deegan, Robert Lima, Catherine Gorzynski, and Village Clerk Rosa Jos

Absent: None

President Caiafa declared a quorum present.

Also present: Joe Montana, Corporate Counsel, Brad Townsend, Village Manager, Brian Bursiek.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

Trustee Klug moved, seconded by Trustee Lima that the MINUTES of the Pre-Session Board Meeting of August 17, 2017 be approved.

Upon roll call the following voted:

Aye: Trustees: Diaz, Klug, Golembiewski, Deegan, Lima and Gorzynski Absent: None Nay: None

President Caiafa declared the motion carried.

PERSONS WISHING TO BE HEARD: No one to be heard.

BUSINESS:

1. Assistant Manager Brian Bursiek read the request from the Daughters of the American Revolution in Franklin Park to consider honoring the Constitution's 230th anniversary.

2. Mr. Bursiek spoke about the parking restriction on Wagner Ave; it was implemented years ago and is no longer needed. He will reach out to the residents for feedback before going forward.

3. Mr. Bursiek also stated that a meeting was held between the village and IDOT to get up to date on the street resurfacing on Irving Park Road. Letters will be going out to residents with information; additional information is available on the Village website.

4. The Mayor met with TIF consultant to start the TIF process.

The Mayor also spoke about the MCD going live on September 19th. He wants to make Sure the Switch to MCD goes smoothly and that every precaution is being taken to ensure the success of the switch.

6. The Mayor and Board discussed the scheduling and training of office staff to support the Police Department when needed.

7. There was discussion of restrictions in the Ordinance of Video Gaming Businesses if Video Gaming is the main source of revenue.

8. There was discussion of the CP Rail comprehensive plan.

9. Discussion of the SAFER Grant. The Mayor attended the pension board meeting to get more information.

EXECUTIVE SESSION: There was no executive session.

ADJOURNMENT:

With no further business to conduct, it was moved by Trustee Lima, seconded by Trustee Klug, that the Pre-Session Board Meeting be adjourned.

Upon roll call the following voted:

Aye: Trustees: Diaz, Klug, Golembiewski, Deegan, Lima and Gorzynski

Absent: None

Nay: None

President Caiafa declared that the Motion carried and this Pre-Session Board Meeting was adjourned at 7:08 P.M.
