Lindop School District 92 Board discusses sensitive student matters

At a recent meeting, the Lindop School District 92 Board met in closed session to discuss the placement of specific students in special-education programs and other issues involving individual students.

The Lindop School District 92 Board includes seven members charged with adopting, enforcing and monitoring all policies for the management and governance of the district’s schools.

Below are the minutes from this meeting, as provided by the board.

CLOSED SESSION MINUTES

July 19, 2016

A. OPEN SESSION Policy Number Section: 2:20

The meeting was called to order by the President, Princess Dempsey.

B. ROLL CALL Policy Number Section: 2:20

Board Members: Princess Dempsey, Tamara Whitfield, Shyrl Griffin, Anissa Cubie (absent), Carla Joiner-Herrod (absent), Tonya Taylor, Penny WilliamsWolford (absent)

C. EXECUTIVE SESSION

1. Ms. Williams-Wolford made the motion to enter into closed session at 7:10 p.m. for the purpose to discuss appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of a specific employee of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body or against legal counsel for the public body to determine its validity.

2. Ms. Williams-Wolford made the motion to enter into closed session at 7:10 p.m. for the purpose to discuss the placement of individual students in special education programs and other matters relating to individual students.

Ms. Taylor seconded the motion.

Motion carried on a voice vote.

Ayes: Ms. Dempsey, Ms. Griffin, Joiner-Herrod, Ms. Williams-Wolford, and Ms. Taylor

Nays:

Abstain:

Absent: Ms. Cubie, and Ms. Whitfield

Ms. Dempsey made the motion to adjourn Closed Session at 8:34 p.m.

Ms. Taylor seconded the motion.

Motion carried on a voice vote.

Ayes: Ms. Dempsey, Ms. Griffin, Ms. Joiner-Herrod, Ms. Williams-Wolford, and Ms. Taylor

Absent: Ms. Cubie, and Ms. Whitfield
