West Chicago Community High School (WCCHS) senior hoopster Bria Williams was honored recently at 2016 Female Athlete of the Winter Season.

Williams, who averages 10 points and nine rebounds per game, had been named Most Valuable Player on the WCCHS girls basketball team, and was named to the All-Tournament team in November and All-Conference team this season.

In addition to basketball, Williams played volleyball and ran track during her freshman year. Williams also has been the soccer team manager for four years and is involved in the Ambassador Club. Williams was on the honor roll during her sophomore and junior years.

Williams continues to work at becoming the best athlete she can be. Looking toward the future, Williams plans to attend college and hopes to play basketball there as well.

Williams passed on a few inspiring words to future WCCHS athletes.

“Always work hard," Williams said. "Put in the time. Have confidence in yourself. Stay humble, and don’t expect things to just be given to you.”
