Maywood to consider maintenance options for surveillance system tonight

The Maywood Legal, License and Ordinance Committee will consider maintenance options for the village's Sky Cam network of security cameras at its next meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Maywood Police Department,

125 S. Fifth Ave.

The village's several dozen street security cameras have come under scrutiny in the past for being in poor condition and partially inoperable, despite thousands of dollars paid toward their operation each month. The committee will consider a support and maintenance agreement for the village's surveillance system with Current Technologies Corp.

The committee also will consider the appointment of Willie Norfleet Jr. to be Maywood's new budget officer and a residential waste collection contract with Republic Services.
