The Regional Transportation Authority recently celebrated its 21st consecutive Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.
The latest honor recognizes the qualities of the organization's 2014 comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR), prepared by RTA's Controller's Division. The plan was rated proficient in 17 categories.
“We are honored to receive this prestigious award for the 21st consecutive year," RTA Executive Director Leanne Redden said. "This speaks to the RTA and the Service Boards’ commitment to providing financials that meet the highest standards of communication and accountability to the public."
The award from GFOA is the only award dedicated to achievement in governmental financial reporting. GFOA is a nonprofit agency that provides resources and representation for 18,000 government-finance professionals throughout Canada and the U.S.
