Western Springs residents are required to purchase 2026 vehicle stickers and pet licenses by April 30, according to a March 17 announcement from the Village. Renewal notices for vehicle stickers are being mailed on March 18, and residents who do not receive a notice by the end of March are advised to contact or visit Village Hall.

The annual license tax applies to all motor vehicles registered or housed in Western Springs. Residents can buy their stickers online, by mail, using the Village Hall drop-box, or in person at Village Hall. The village encourages online purchases through wsprings.com/vehiclestickers, where residents will need their license plate number and vehicle identification number from the renewal form. Alternatively, a fillable PDF form is available on the website for those preferring to submit payment by mail or in person. Stickers must be purchased by April 30 to avoid a $50 late fee.

Village Hall will offer extended hours for sticker purchases on Saturday, April 25 from 8:30 am to noon and Monday, April 27 from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm. Regular office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm at the offices located at 740 Hillgrove Avenue, as reported by the official website. Residents may also use the drop box at this address at any time.

Vehicles without current stickers may be ticketed by the Police Department. New residents should register vehicles within thirty days of moving into Western Springs and are advised not to purchase stickers online after May 1 but instead call or visit Village Hall directly.

All households with dogs or cats must register their pets and purchase an annual pet license for $10 as required by municipal code. The registration form is available at wsprings.com/petlicenses.

Western Springs operates under a council-manager government system that separates policy-making from administration and delivers public services through professional staff supporting advisory boards according to the official website. The village manager supervises personnel and implements policies set by elected volunteer officials including the village president and board of trustees according to the official website. Resident volunteers serve on boards and commissions that provide expert reviews and recommendations on community matters according to the official website.

Looking ahead, officials say these requirements help maintain accurate records for both vehicles and pets while supporting local governance efforts.
