The Village of Western Springs is hosting an open house event at its Water Treatment Plant on Wednesday, May 7, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The event provides an opportunity for residents to learn about the equipment and methods used in water treatment processes. Attendees will also have the chance to meet the plant’s operators, who are responsible for providing safe, clean, and high-quality drinking water to the community.

“This is a rare chance to get an up-close look at water production in Western Springs! All ages are welcome,” says the invitation.

The open house coincides with Drinking Water Week, which is recognized from May 4 to 10, 2025. This annual observance is sponsored by the American Water Works Association, aiming to highlight the essential role drinking water plays in daily life.
