Discussion of Branding and Identity Plan RFP

Communications and Marketing Manager Bob Uphues and Management Analyst Noah Rife presented the branding and identity plan RFP. Staff outlined the history of the current logo which was created in 1962 and demonstrated that there are multiple different iterations that have been created since then. The purpose of the RFP is to comprehensively rebrand the Village which would include a new logo, tagline, consistent color palette, and sub-branding. Staff intends to release the RFP on February 20th with responses due by March 20th. The vendor is expected to be selected at the April 13th board meeting and plan to have the initial kickoff meeting on April 20th. The plan is expected to take a year to complete. Staff recommends an ad hoc committee that will help guide the process and consist of community members and two board members. The Board reached consensus in support of the RFP, with the addition of revised language placing a stronger emphasis on community involvement. Comments and questions were made by President Garvey, Clerk Melendez and Trustees Hendricks, Ketchmark, Kaluzny, Gilhooley, Narimatsu, and Whitehead.
