Current sophomores and juniors at Oak Park and River Forest High School will begin selecting courses for the 2026–2027 academic year on Tuesday, November 4. The Counseling Division has prepared a short video to introduce students to the new process for choosing courses using SchooLinks. This video will be shown in sophomore and junior advisories on the same day.
Resources for course selection are available in the Class of 2027 and Class of 2028 Counselor Google Classrooms. In addition, paper copies of these resources will be distributed to advisories next week.
The Counseling Division encourages students to preview the presentation titled "Course Selection: Your Future Starts Here" before their advisory sessions.
Teacher recommendations for courses will be posted in the “Comments” section of the SchooLinks Course Planner. Students are advised to contact their teachers directly if they have questions about any recommendations.
Students must complete their course requests before meeting individually with their counselors. Individual counselor meetings for sophomores are scheduled from November 4 through November 19, while juniors will meet with counselors between November 20 and December 12.
Freshmen will begin meeting with counselors in January to finalize next year’s courses and build their Four-Year Plan in SchooLinks. Invitations for these meetings will be sent out at that time.
