City of Northlake Finance & Rules Committee of the Whole met Oct. 6

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL:

PRESENT: ALDERMAN STRAUBE

ALDERMAN FELDMANN

ALDERMAN SOSA

ALDERMAN GROCHOWSKI

ALDERMAN PATTI

PRESENT VIA CONFERENCE BRIDGE: ALDERMAN URBINA

ABSENT: ALDERMAN CONTRERAS

ALDERMAN JOHNSON

OTHERS PRESENT: KEN BERES, CHIEF OF POLICE

ISMAEL JIMENEZ, FINANCE DIRECTOR

TONY FACIANO, PUBLIC WORKS

Alderman Patti made a motion to approve Alderman Urbina participating in the meeting via conference bridge; seconded by Alderman Sosa. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.

The committee reviewed the minutes of the September 15, 2025 meeting. Alderman Patti made a motion to approve the minutes of the September 15, 2025 meeting; seconded by Alderman Straube. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The minutes were approved.

Mayor Sherwin presented the Warrants and Vouchers. Alderman Patti made a motion to pay the Warrants and Vouchers; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Mayor Sherwin opened a discussion to approve Resolution R-17-2025; A Resolution Approving the 2025 Community Development Block Grant Program Year Agreements with the County of Cook, Illinois for Project Number 2507-006. Alderman Patti made a motion to approve; seconded by Alderman Straube. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Mayor Sherwin stated that the use and manufacturing of pennies is being eliminated in the United States and the council will discuss at the next meeting rounding up utility bills to eliminate the need for pennies when making change.

There being no further business, Alderman Straube made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.
