The Village of Brookfield has announced it is seeking sealed bids for the renovation of Ehlert Park Field 1, which will take place in two phases. The scope of the project includes site clearing, demolition of existing structures, earthwork, installation of a prefabricated building, dugout shade structures, fencing, backstop installation, concrete paving, underdrain work, and site restoration.
Project manuals and construction documents are available for download at no cost from BuildingConnected beginning October 8, 2025. Contractors can access these materials by visiting app.buildingconnected.com. Hard copies of the documents can be obtained at the contractor’s expense.
Bids must be submitted to the Village of Brookfield at 8820 Brookfield Avenue, Brookfield, Illinois, 60513 during regular office hours. All submissions must be sealed and clearly marked with the contractor’s name and address along with the project title. The deadline for bid submissions is 10:00 AM on October 22, 2025. The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 10:01 AM on the same day at the same address.
A bid security of 10% of the base bid is required with each submission. This can be provided as a bid bond, certified check, or cashier’s check payable to the Village of Brookfield.
According to the announcement: "Village of Brookfield reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, parts of any and all proposals, or to waive technical errors or omissions in submitted proposals. No submitted bid may be withdrawn until a period of sixty (60) days after the bid opening date, without written consent of the Village of Brookfield. The Village of Brookfield encourages minority business firms to submit bids on this project and the successful contract bidder to utilize minority businesses as sub-contractors for supplies, equipment, services, and construction. The contractor(s) selected will also be required to comply with all federal, state and local laws, rules, regulations and executive orders pertaining to equal employment opportunity."
