The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will begin repairs on the Ogden Avenue Bridge starting Monday, September 22. The project will affect traffic on Ogden Avenue from just west of Brookfield through November.
During construction, traffic on Ogden Avenue between La Grange Road and East Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction. IDOT has also announced a detour for pedestrians, who will be rerouted around the work zone using Washington, Lincoln, and Bluff Avenues.
According to IDOT, "The improvement consists of bridge deck overlay, joint replacement, approach slab repairs and substructure repairs of the bridge located on Ogden Avenue over Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad in the Village of LaGrange."
Drivers are advised to expect delays in the area and allow extra time for travel. IDOT thanked the public for their patience during this period.
