Cicero officials held a free property tax assessment appeal workshop to help residents understand and potentially lower their property tax bills. The event took place on August 12 at the Cicero Community Center and was led by Hon. George Cardenas, Commissioner of the Cook County Board of Review, in partnership with Cicero Town Assessor Emilio Cundari and Town President Larry Dominick.

At the workshop, homeowners received detailed guidance on how to file an appeal before the August 19 deadline for Cicero Township. Residents were encouraged to bring their most recent property tax bill or Property Index Number so they could receive assistance filing appeals during the event.

“This workshop was a great opportunity for homeowners to make sure their property tax assessment was fair,” said Town Assessor Emilio Cundari. “We encouraged everyone to bring their most recent property tax bill or their Property Index Number so we could help them file an appeal on the spot.”

President Larry Dominick highlighted the challenges families face with rising property taxes. “We know how challenging it can be for families when their property tax bill goes up,” Dominick said. “By hosting this workshop, we gave our residents the tools they needed to make sure they weren’t overpaying.”

Residents still have until August 19, 2025, to submit appeals for Cicero Township assessments. More information is available at CookCountyBoardOfReview.com or by contacting local offices via phone or email.
